When was the last time people took to the streets in celebration of an election? Not in my lifetime. The largest voter turnout since women won the right to vote. At the polls I saw parents sharing their voting experience with their children. People who took to Seattle's streets last night danced in the streets, set off fireworks and after hours of celebrating, they helped sweep up the trash from the street before going home...instead of crowd control, the police thanked the crowd. At the election night party I went to, people of all ages, sizes, genders and cultures shared tears of joy, cheers and our amazement at the history we all are a part of.I know that not everyone is excited about the outcome of the election. I hope that everyone can come together and work to bring about positive changes in our country. It's going to take all of us.
